Meet the Zacuto GH5 & GH5s Cage (plus all the accessories you need)

The Lumix GH4 has been a favorite DSLR here at Zacuto for a while, and the Panasonic Lumix GH5 and GH5s are shaping up to be an excellent replacement. We took the two cameras out recently for a side by side comparison and were really impressed. (Jump to watch the GH5 vs GH4 video.) To support these new camera we've created our first cage! We like to call it our "no-cage" cage because it's so slim and fits the Lumix GH5 and GH5s perfectly. Take a look at everything it can do! Click an image to enlarge.

GH5 / GH5s Cage Base Model

The GH5 Cage is our “no-cage” cage - lightweight and compact, it packs in a ton of features! The GH5 Cage screws into the bottom of the camera with a provided ¼ 20 screw. It also attaches to the sides of the camera, using the Panasonic eyelets neck strap connection with provided screws. The top of the cage includes numerous ¼ 20 for mounting accessories. It also has a built-in Z-Rail for mounting an optional top handle or other accessories. The bottom of the cage has 2 ¼" 20 threads and a 3/6" 16 thread for a tripod plate and a built in dovetail to slide into a VCT Pro baseplate or VCT Pro Dock so you can quickly move your camera from handheld, to shoulder mount, to tripod shooting. Top Handle & GH5 Metabones Support Adapter

Our two most popular add-on accessories are the Top Handle and a non-rod based Metabones support.

15mm Rod Lock for Top Handle

If you're looking to build your GH5 Cage into a shoulder mounted rig or add a Gratical EVF you'll want this extra mount. The Rod Lock attaches to the coldshoe in the Top Handle to provide a quick-release rod port for the Axis Mini EVF mount and Gratical HD Micro-OLED EVF.

Atomos Mount

A special adapter to securely mount the popular Atomos Shogun Inferno monitor to your Zacuto GH5 Cage. Compatible with Shogun Inferno, Ninja Inferno, Shogun Flame, and Ninja Flame.

Make it a Rig

The GH5 Cage fits seamlessly with our VCT Pro Baseplate making it easy to turn your cage into a shoulder mounted rig. From there you can add an Axis Mini and Gratical EVF (via the 15mm Rod Lock pictured above), handgrips, a follow focus, Gripper Batteries, and any other accessories you need. We just got a new Panasonic Lumix GH5 in our rental department, so Chase and Ryan snagged it to shoot a quick video for a friend who is opening a new bar in Wrigleyville here in Chicago.
